Writing publications about State Employment Service activities: promoting government programs through grantee stories and beyond

Task:
Prepare materials highlighting the work of the State Employment Service and the benefits of government programs, including training, employer cost compensation, business grants, and others.
Implementation

The State Employment Service (SES), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, launched support programs for various categories of Ukrainians: entrepreneurs; those seeking to acquire new professions; veterans and people with disabilities on their path to employment.

The UK comms agency assisted the State Employment Service in preparing social media posts, press releases, news articles, and other materials about these services and other areas of work.

At the beginning of the project, we thoroughly reviewed the conditions of each SES program and service, including:

The agency produced between 5 and 20 texts per month for the client. Our team interviewed Ukrainians who had already benefited from these initiatives. We aimed to gain a deeper understanding of how government programs are transforming people's lives and influencing the country's economic situation.

Over the entire cooperation period, we interviewed more than 20 people who participated in the programs and received grants, vouchers, compensations, and other support. Most interviewees were eager to share their experiences, future plans, and gratitude for the opportunities provided by the state. They also expressed appreciation for the support from employment center staff. Some were less open to communication—in such cases, we utilized our interviewing skills and journalistic background.

Result

Over the 6-month collaboration, the agency's team wrote 66 texts. These were published on the State Employment Service's platforms, in media outlets, and on other government websites.

We highlighted successful cases of program participants and shared the real stories of over 20 people.

Statistics show that participation in SES programs increased during 2024. This growth was partly facilitated by the communications efforts of the UK comms agency.
