Electronic registries: success stories for East Europe Foundation
Prepare 4 materials in the “success story” format that show the benefits of the new electronic registers of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
These are the grain warehouse documents registry, the eBlood system, the registry of psychological assistance providers for veterans, and the unified pet registry. They were launched by the Ministry of Digital Transformation with the support of the European Union, the East Europe Foundation, GIZ Ukraine, and the German government. The registries were developed on the Diia.Engine platform.
The East Europe Foundation is our long-term client. This time, it asked us to write about the deployment of electronic registries that will become the basis for further digital transformation of the state.
We talked to experts from the Ministry of Digital Transformation. We found out how the new registers work, what was before they were launched, and how they will affect Ukrainian society and economy.
Some of the new systems can save budgetary funds and streamline the storage of information in strategically important areas. For example, before the launch of the register of grain warehouse documents, the state had no idea how much grain it had in storage. And the eBlood system will provide verified information on blood needs and allow monitoring stocks at the national and regional levels.
The topic of electronic registries is a complex one, and we had to understand the technical details and legal nuances.
We prepared four materials. We interviewed experts from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, and the Ministry of Veterans. We worked quickly and efficiently, as we had to leave time for experts to comment and finalize the texts.
The next stage was publication. We had to ensure that the materials were published in the media without changes, as they had already been approved by experts. And we succeeded.
The texts are based on information received from specialists who worked on the planning, development and maintenance of electronic registries. The articles are informative and expert.
